Success Story - Travis

Dear Mr. Chapman,

Thank you for the inspiring and thoughtful email I received last Friday. I appreciate you allowing me a few moments of your time to drop-in and say hello. It was great seeing you all and to know that everyone is doing well. The boy's home really means a lot to me and my adolescents. It played a dynamic role in my development into a young man. I guess what I am trying to say is I have a great admiration for what it is you all do for the boys in your care. I am sorry to hear that not many come by to express how much the home has meant to them; however I know that each young man that has passed through those halls owes each one of you a debt of gratitude. We were treated as young men and taught to take pride in who we were. Each of us came from broken homes and different backgrounds but were taught to live as brothers. At times we took it for granted, but I know now that not a day goes by that we don't think about what great things the boys home taught us. We might have shown up as boys, but through your guidance we left as men.

As for my plans between now and grad school, I plan on tying up a few loos end here in Columbia and take a breather from school. At the moment I am just too burned out with tests and research papers to even fathom the work load of graduate school. So I am going to wait out the rest of my lease here and see how the "working world" treats me. I actually just finished typing up my resume tonight so I will be hitting the job trail tomorrow. I really appreciate the offer to work at the boy's home. I would love the chance to work at the boy's home and think that that would be a great experience for me, thank you for the consideration. When I decide to move back to Darlington, I can only hope that the offer is still on the table.

Sincerely,
Travis
